Vancouver Island to San Francisco, the first few days

So it took 8 days to go from Vancouver Island to San Francisco. We had a little excitement in the middle with a storm on day 5 of the trip and then some peaceful conditions when we were becalmed. All in all it was a pretty fast trip with an average boat speed of course made good close to 5.3 knots.

We entered the USA officially after my first little mistake mentioned previously on blog
http://storiesofjustdreamin.blogspot.ca/2016/09/the-boomerang-start-so-lets-try-that.html. The US customs agents at Friday Harbor were very friendly and helpful throughout all the toing and froing as we tried to and finally succeeded in clearing into the USA. A big thank you to the US customs agents for their patience and help with sorting out the paperwork.
We finally got to see Friday Harbor where we waited for a while for the tide to turn.

Finally officially in the USA

So the first few days were fair sailing with the chance for some relaxation both on and after doing our respective watches. We saw plenty of fishing boats as well and some amazing colours with sunrises and sunsets. This is my favorite time of day to see the colours that happen with the sunsets and sunrises.

A couple of the many fishing boats we saw

It was like a minefield at night with all the earie glows of the many fishing boats that were fishing at night. We saw most of these boats when it was dark ... well we did not see the boats because it was dark but we saw all their work lights making them look like little alien space ship hovering over the sea.
